DR. Most often, they'll compare the drug against something called a placebo or a sugar pill. The times when I've done the benefit analysis, I've been chastised, criticized and suppressed by the FDA. But, they aid and abet it. If I don't tell them the truth, then I'm now responsible, in part, for future deaths. If I keep quiet about that, now I'm part of the problem. That counts as wealth under the rules of classic free market economics. drug cartel. The nation as a whole is not healthier, even though we are taking far more prescription drugs than we ever have. That makes sense, but it's not the way things work. They were involved in a coordinated attempt to discredit me and to smear my name and to prevent me from giving testimony. Those are benefits. The FDA has not been very good about that; it likes to cultivate all these weeds. It creates needs or desires where there really isn't a need or a desire. They get to the Republicans and the Democrats. However, if you were to read the labeling for these drugs it doesn't point that fact out so patients think one SSRI is as good as another. The people at the FDA who approved the drug, the Office of New Drugs, they are the single greatest obstacle when it comes to removing unsafe drugs from the market. So it's a captured agency and America is not well served when industry is calling all the shots. After I named those five drugs the FDA was in the media saying that I did junk science and that these drugs were safe and effective and that I was a crackpot. I think that there are many things that can be done that haven't been done. As Americans, most of us are taught the same: that the free market is the best system in the world; that it produces more goods and services for consumers; that it raises the standard of living; that it works better than centrally-planned economies, and so on. And they'll keep costs low through competition. The FDA has been unable to produce any statistics whatsoever that show large numbers of dead Canadians from taking prescription drugs, and I don't mean to offend Canadians with that statement, by the way.

The culture and the incentives that the FDA operates by would have to be changed, and Congress can do that through legislation and by establishing different standards for how a drug gets approved.t seem to do a very good job at protecting young children.!
